Virtue Senshi Sailor Justice

I would like to start by saying that I worked very hard on getting this far in my art and I'm very proud to have my character drawn by my own hand and look how I want her to. EDITS: NEW BACKGROUND!!! YAY!!! Virtus Bellator is latin for Virtue warrior. I redid her head cause it was simply too big. I really like how this one came out. I was going for a background similar to the one DrachaeRannak used for his collection of zodiac senshi-which was a big help in design for the new background as well as reference from Sailor Leo for Justice's pose.

Personality: Rachel has always been a very kind-hearted person. As a child she was always nice to everyone unless someone was being mean to another. She also is a very protective person. If she feels like someone is unjustly using harsh words to another she will step in no matter the situation. Usually she is very quiet and watches everyone around her. Paranoia is another trait of hers. Unfortunately, she has a fear that everyone is against her. She has this complex from years of hateful criticism from her friends, people that that they were better than her, and even her own siblings. She grew up thinking she was ugly, unloved, and worthless. Her kindness ebbed eventually and she went down a destructive path for a few years. There was nothing like drugs, alcohol, or sex involved. She had just hardened her heart and felt that she was best left alone without trying to make friends. Her attitude was always angry or sad. She often would break down and cry. After three years of pushing people away and always feeling alone, she found the Lord at age 15 and turned her personality around. She became somewhat pleasant to be around. Every year she got better but always retained her passion for standing up for what is right and detesting what is wrong. As she has grown, she has realized that there are grey areas that are hard to make the best decision in. For those situations she leaves it to The Heavenly Father to contend with. Even today, she has problems feeling ugly, unloved, and worthless but she has more confidence in herself since she found The Lord and has been able to make friends. Even with friends though, she still feels alone and can’t completely trust them. She feels that everyone will eventually leave her so she doesn’t let herself get too close anymore. As hard as she tries to keep herself from getting attached, it always happens and it always hurts when they leave her. She tries to always be there for people, especially her friends. Sometimes she falls short though. Even though she loves everyone unconditionally, she is often judgmental and bothers people with her opinion and advice. When it is a topic she feels strongly about she can be quite passionate. Children are the most precious souls on Earth and she feels that they should be protected at all times. When it comes to children she changes to a very lioness personality. Any crimes against children are deemed the worst in her eyes. She also feels that suffering is worse than death and she would rather die than suffer. Along with her paranoia, she has a kind of twisted mind in thinking that if the worst crime was committed that the criminal should be tortured rather than murdered for their crimes. In her eyes the justice system just isn’t very just when it comes to those kinds of crimes. She isn’t perfect by a long shot. She is who she is though and no one can take that away from her.

Physical Appearance: Standing at 5’4 and weighing 98lbs, Rachel is a rather small woman and is often told so. Even with the pitiful weigh though, she still looks healthy. In fact, she is healthy. She eats very well for her size and does little to no exercise. She doesn’t really like being so little. It bothers her a great deal because people use to call her anorexic. She stopped exercising and became a couch potato eating anything she could.
Her face has very small features aside from her eyes. They are very large and a sort of bright brown color. Long black eyelashes frame her eyes. Her nose is medium sized with a round tip. Her lips are small as well and often cracked and unappealing. Due to dry skin it is hard for her lips to remain moisturized and she often picks the dry skin off her lips as a habit. Also due to dry skin, she has round, red splotches on her neck and back. This was inherited from her father. Her bust size is 32-A. With all the little features she has, she is often mistaken as younger than she really is. It often annoys her when someone asks her age and he/she is astonished by how old she really is. She has double simian lines on her hands. In palmistry, simian lines are when the heart and head lines merge together. It is supposed that this means that everything that happens around a person with double simian lines will be felt in extreme measures and they are always tense. Also, she has a spray of what looks like freckles all along her right leg but it is her birthmark.
Brown hair that reaches just below her shoulders and her bangs reach her chin. She doesn’t like for anyone to cut her bangs so she cuts them herself. Her hair was straight when she was born but eventually kinks began to take over her bangs so she now has to use a straightening iron to make her hair look smooth and have volume. Her teeth are crooked to a point because there is crowding and she cannot pay for braces. She usually wears her nails long until one breaks and she bites the rest off. The soft natural look is the one she goes for; little to no make-up and no nail polish. She does believe in shaving though.
Her clothes are as simple as she is and often match her mood. Her usual attire is T-shirt and jeans with flats. Her classy wear is a cute shirt with dress pants and flats and her fun cutesy wear is a sweet summer or spring dress. She loves pea-coats and tall boots for winter. She wears glasses when her contacts have run out. They are square black frames.
When she transforms into Sailor Justice, Her body suit is white with three puffs as each sleeve. Her choker, bows, shoes, and three glove puffs(for each glove) are a deep red. Navy blue is the color of her sailor collar and her skirt. Her tiara is silver with a silver cross in the middle. She has a silver cross brooch and she has a silver cross on the top of each of her shoes, which are flats.

Character History: Starting out as the Angel of Virtue, Purity, she asked God to give her a chance to redeem mankind by going to Earth and becoming a human before he wiped out humanity. He granted her wish and she was sent to Earth as Rachel Gavial to a family of five in the small state of Mississippi. She was born as the middle child having an older sister and a younger brother. Her mother and father were of a middle class but as time wore on their wealth faded to poor. Being poor never bothered Rachel but it bothered her siblings. Rachel was always a kind child but somewhere along the lines her innocence was corrupted and her heart hardened towards people. Her energy went from only pure thoughts to thoughts of justice and punishment for those who did wrong. She never really knew about God growing up. It wasn’t until she was 15 that she was in church during a revival that she felt the tug on her heart and she wept as she made her way down the isle to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. This made her calm down some and realize that it’s God’s right to vengeance. Even so, the evils of this world plagued her. Even though she had been sheltered since she was born she saw everything that happened and was told stories. Many of her friends and family had been molested or raped and she felt like it could happen to her. It became her greatest fear when she found out that a relative was a pedophile. From this she realized that anyone is capable of anything. She began to fear older men and have paranoia. Though, sometimes it is better to be safe than sorry.
In fact, while coming home from her martial arts class, she happens upon a girl being pursued by a man hoping to cause that very harm to her. Rachel gets out of her truck and saves the girl. Even though she would have liked to administer her own form of punishment to the man for his interrupted crime, she gave in to guilt and called the police. She then saw that the girl returned safely home. With her nerves shot from the excitement, she goes home and attempts to go to sleep. While asleep she has a vision of herself walking in a floral forest in an ethereal atmosphere. Seeing a man in the distance she is curious so she goes to him. This man is Jesus and he speaks with her about her good deed. Together they walked and talked for a while until he addresses the reason he has come to her. He wants her to fight the injustices that have infested themselves in New York City. They are called the Impure Dominion and represent the seven vices. Rachel agrees to fight them and Jesus grants her powers in her silver cross necklace. All she would have to pray is, “Grant Me Justice!” and her powers would come to her. Jesus then tells her of more warriors(senshi) that would help her fight. They would represent the other virtues. She would need to find them and ask for their help in fighting The Impure Dominion. He asks for her help in one last area. He asks that she help find The Angel of Virtue, Purity. It seemed that she had fallen somewhere on Earth and she needed guidance back to her position in Heaven. Rachel agrees and he kisses her forehead while the vision fades.
From the beginning of her call, she is very dedicated to fighting for justice and the Lord. She takes her job very seriously and helps the other senshi to be brave and take a stand for what’s right. During the course of time of her being Sailor Justice, Rachel starts to see things in a different light. Her mission becomes clouded as every hero’s does. The voice of temptation becomes louder and louder and she cannot seem to see what's right anymore. Sailor Love is the first victim of Sailor Justice's fragile mind. She gets tired of having to look out for the little girl and says harsh words to her. She then goes to find Sailor Love and finds that Lust, Envy, and Wrath have cornered Love and she faints leaving Justice and Respect to fight the Vices while Peace looks after Love. Love takes another older form and addresses Lust while the other two Vices take their leave. (Not sure what I'm going to do here yet, still deciding).
Then Rachel loses herself to a young man and things don't work out. She feels broken and worthless. Her vision of right and wrong becomes even hazier and she hardens her heart towards people in general. The only one she allows herself to feel for is her small dog, Tux. He is her only comfort until he is stolen. After searching for him for a month, Rachel becomes placid. She never seems really happy and she becomes short with everyone. Then, a fateful night when Sailor Justice and Sailor Love face Envy, it is revealed that Envy is the one who took Tux. She becomes infuriated and tries to fight Envy and take Tux back. Unfortunately, Envy threatens the life of Tux and Sailor Justice is forced to do whatever Envy's whim was. Envy nearly has her way and kills Sailor Justice but then she hears a faint voice and a cruel smile crosses her face. She tells Sailor Justice that she will let the dog live if she takes the mark of the beast. Sailor Justice's eyes become wide and her heart heavy. Taking one more look at her dear friend Tux, she makes her decision and holds out her arm. Envy pushes her arm away and touches Justice's forehead saying, "I want everyone to see what you have done." 666 was burned into her skin and her soul belonged to Satan. Tears flowed down her face and then her suit glowed white purifying the colors. The 666 glowed a bright red but then was erased completely by the purifying light. Thus, it is revealed that Sailor Justice is now Sailor Purity. It was then Envy's turn to feel her heart drop and she let Tux go and tried to run away. (Not sure how I'm going to about this part either yet) After this, Samuel Horace-one of the main villains-is defeated somehow(probably just going to put all the details into my comic). Anyways, then the Virtue Senshi are allowed to speak with Jesus and Eden is created. The question of Sailor Justice staying as Sailor Purity arises and she nearly says yes because then all her impurities would be wiped away, but Sailor Love convinces her that Justice shouldn't give up on love and that even though she made a mistake that doesn't mean she should harden her heart.
